Met Gala 2018 Favorites // Red Carpet

It's been more than 2 weeks since the Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. However, I realized today that I skipped the one of 2017 and I cannot remember why! Well, no worries, I am not skipping this year's, so sit comfortably and scroll down to see my favorites.

This year's theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and "features some 40 Vatican vestments and accessories spanning 15 papacies, which curator Andrew Bolton is said to have visited at least 10 times to secure pieces which have never left the Vatican's possession before. Items such as Pope Benedict XV's white silk cape embroidered with gold thread and the pointed bishop's hat of Pope Leo XIII, will go on display alongside pieces by Coco Chanel, who was educated by nuns, John Galliano, Cristóbal Balenciaga and Donatella Versace, who is a sponsor of the exhibition." [quoted text from Vogue]

Feel free to comment, agree or disagree and let me know who was your favorite and why.

Although Blake Lively was the girl who stole the show at the 2018 Met Ball with her gigantic Versace gown, she is not one of my favorites, but I will explain that later. My top favorite was Jasmine Sanders (aka Golden Barbie on YouTube/Twitter/Instagram) in her H&M liquid gold gown and her heavenly braided hair. I had no idea she existed until the day I saw her at the MET's red carpet. Loved everything (except the nails, but that's irrelevant) and I would totally wear this look from head to toe (not the finger nails though, haha).

Next one would be the extremely beautiful and always elegant Diane Kruger in a showstopping and very regal satin blue Prabal Gurung mini dress with long train. LOVED her headpiece! It was perfect for her.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in her golden caped fully embellished Ralph Lauren gown and her golden halo was 100% the Heavenly Body of Fashion and the Catholic Imagination! She is the epitome of this year's theme.

Next is Amber Heard with her revealing Carolina Herrera red gown and her spiked golden halo. Loved the buttons on the back of her dress and on her sleeves and the dramatic makeup. She looks perfect!

Last but not least was my eternal bohemian rock princess, Sienna Miller, in Louis Vuitton. Stunning beauty, distinctive elegance.

Now, about Blake Lively's look that evening. To me, Blake is one of the most beautiful women alive, and she looked very pretty at the Gala, BUT that gown was too much, even for me. Love you, Blake, but that dress was very "heavy"!
